My experience at Veritone, from 2016 to 2017, provides a compelling example of this potential.

Veritone is an AI startup that developed a groundbreaking Cognitive Media Platform. As Senior Director of Product Management, I led a team that expanded a media advertising product into this comprehensive platform, designed to analyze vast amounts of audio and video content. This wasn't just about media monitoring; it was about extracting valuable insights from the ever-growing sea of digital information.

Our platform analyzed content from diverse sources, including TV, radio, and thousands of hours of uploaded material, across sectors like politics, media, law enforcement, and compliance. Using our proprietary data science conductor, we processed information related to speech, tone, vision, OCR, facial recognition, emotions, and redaction. This allowed us to identify patterns, connections, and crucial details that would otherwise be missed.

One of the most impactful applications of this technology was in law enforcement. Our platform provided law enforcement agencies with powerful tools to investigate crimes, identify suspects, and prevent future incidents. By analyzing audio and video evidence, our AI helped to accelerate investigations, uncover hidden connections, and ultimately contribute to a safer society.

Beyond law enforcement, the platform also empowered developers through our AI Developer Hub. This hub, featuring an App Exchange, APIs, and a comprehensive development platform, allowed developers to build their own AI-powered applications, generating $1 million in SaaS revenue, with a significant payout for the developers themselves. This fostered innovation and expanded the reach of our AI technology.

My time at Veritone demonstrated the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence. By combining cutting-edge technology with a focus on practical applications, we were able to create a platform that not only revolutionized media analysis but also empowered law enforcement to protect communities. This experience reinforces Bodhi's belief in the power of technology, when thoughtfully developed and ethically applied, to create a more just and sustainable world.
